My PD has the Metzler Enduro 3 Sahara tyres fitted, they're about half worn but still ride ok, from what I can work out rear is dated 2007 and front 2001 !
So I'm going to replace them after the TT, what are you running on your PD, I like the Sahara tyre but I believe they wear quickly, also I was surprised to see my current set are made in Brazil !

Shall I stick with this brand/type or is there something better out there now ?

There was a post on a GS FB page from a guy raving about how good the Continental TCK 70's were on his PD.

Re Enduro Sahara I don;t think they were spec'd for later bikes

The world is your oyster even a week old set of Cheng Shin will feel better than a pair of 15 year old tyres

Oops Appears Incorrect Enduro III were suitable http://www.metzeler.com/site/uk/products/tyres-catalogue.html

If you are not going off road at all other than gravel lanes then Tourance would be my preference on my bike

Conti's always seem to have someone raving about them, but they are made by Mitas and similar tires under the Mitas brand dont get much of a mention.

I am on my third set of Mitas E08's on my GS and they suit me fine, they are a modern road carcase with a slightly off road tread and do the job they are designed for, which is 70% on road and 30% off. Didnt last me any longer the Enduro 3's but were a little cheaper.

I have Anekee 3's on my Funduro and if they did a 18" rear I would have them on everything - they are the next generation in tires and just outclass anything else I've tried.
They are lasting forever too, I get 7000 km out of the Enduro 3's , 14000 out of the Anekee 3's and they seem to keep a decent shape out to the end without scalloping or squaring off.
Never hear much about Dunlop Trailmax's, but just put a set of the cheap 604 s on the G/S and they are excellent. Took about 400 km to get the whiskers off the centre of the tread so looks like they will last a while.
The 604 s dont come in GS sizes in Oz , but the more expensive TR91's do ,and if they are better than their cheaper brothers they will be a exceptionally good tire.

Mines an 88 so I think these are only maybe its second set, ( 26 k KM ) I suppose the previous owner just went with what was suppled on the earlier PD's .

They're ok though, if a little old now.

Tyres are a very subjective thing. You like them or you don't.

Mitas make Continental tyre under a licence agreement which expires in 2009. They will then call them Mitas Premium. I thought that mostly to do with agricultural tyres though... I know, I know... The GS is a bit of a tractor.

Just noticed my TKC70's are made in Korea  which probably means they are made by Shin Hung Rubber Co. for Conti.
They make tyres for Michelin and other as well.

Just seen that Trellborg bought CSG that owns Mitas. Incestuous bastards.
