One of the other Tossers put me on to Otterbox - might be what you need, although it won't sort out the screen brightness etc.

ToTom has said it has developed a version of its software for the 3G iPhone so I'll wait to see what happens (as per my other thread). If it all transpires as I hope I'll let you know what the results are like.

I've seen the Otterbox stuff, very good! Pelicase also make some smaller units now with a clear top, although they don't have a membrane in the lid to use with your stylus.

One thing I've found with using my iPaq in the car is that now and then the OS (Windows Mobile 5) causes the Tomtom program to go into the background and you have to tap the screen to get it to come forward again. Not a big problem in the car, but if it were in a waterproof box on the bike this would be an annoying problem. Might well run better on the smartphone, but it's just one of the niggles that makes a dedicated solution more attractive.

Let me know how you get on - ideally with some pretty pictures!
