New VFR800

Not gullible, just someone who does all of their own servicing. The thought of removing & reinstalling 4 cams TWICE, along with sourcing the relevant locking pins just to CHECK the valve clearance is rediculous (potentially need to come out & back in a 3rd time if adjustment is required)
Dealers often quote seemingly reasonable charges for a vtec check, try & pin them down on a price for check and adjustment.....
The cynical side of me could say many dealers are getting fat off not checking vtec clearances, or saying they've been done - but just the easy ones!

A vtec motor does have it's charms but is the equivalent of using a very big sledgehammer to crack a very small nut.
Each to their own I suppose.

I would say you are absolutely correct.

The "new" Crossrunner is now out having been given a much better look and is now based on the "new" VFR . It too is supposedly a much better machine than its predecessor ...... Worth a look if the Viffer is too cramped.:thumb

My local Honda Dealer seemed to think that the 16K check was a little early anyway and indicated that it could be done later on - more like 24-25K.

I will worry about that when I get there..... The new Crossrunner thingy looks better than the old one - I had ridden that and hated it. Felt like a naked scooter to ride.
