New XDA help needed.

Just got a nice new toy.....an xda...


That's the good news..the bad is that its supplied through a company called Cognito, and its set up so their CE front end comes straight up with their own SMS mailbox type thing that my office will use to send me jobs etc.

The phone part of the xda isnt activated yet but that will be done in a month or two.....what I want to do though is load up the various bits of software (licensed cd copies of pocket word etc etc) and be able to access them...however with this cognito front end i dont even have a 'start' button.

Anyone got any ideas??

I'm thinking i might be able to load the software up and possibly get top it somehow and if it doesnt work, poke the stylus pricky thing in the battery off whole and reset the thing....

Any advice appreciated.

although I've had an XDA since March last year, I'm not sure what you're on about However, Pthagonal also has one (he's using it while his Tricorder is fixed) and will no doubt be able to out-geek you on the subject........ Mine's just a phone with an advanced address book & diary incorporated (I've never used it for we-surfing or Email - too bloody expensive!).

have you the xda synked with your pc?

can u browse through the programs that way?

as for software ill see what i can get my hands on for you..


ive kept mine fairly basic..

word etc and a few other progs..

i used to get email sent to it but it wasnt really needed..

but if i travel i can get stuff bounced to it..

i have a copy of a some autoroute software somewhere but i need more memeory to use this..

cheapest place for memory is amazon.com


if your xda is locked and you cant get into the guts of the OS then i could probably get you codes to crack it, but then it mightnt be able to get back to it..

as for anyone else i have a xda for sale (my g/f's) she used it for a few months and then got another upgrade from work, she gets a new phone every 6 months or so.. lucky £$%^%$&

ps yes phone is for sale, 300 euros, unlocked, clean and all the bits plus spare cradle as well, can even get it redone with the latest OS and software if you want..
