hi just got one of these lets say retro satnavs from fleabay
(not arived yet ) it came with tt mount
anyway
first things first it will get updated as much as pos
dose anyone now if its compat with the latest versions of mapsorce ect
i did email garmin asking but no reply
just to help me catch up as well pps talk about v5 v6 v7 ect up to v9 then when i go on garmin its all 2008/2009/2010 so how did this happen is v9 basicly 2007? (change of name format )
it seems all older maps ar compat with mapsorce 6.14.1 as this is the one i have installed but will i be ok uploading the 2009 map onto the satnav will it recognize it

sp3 will struggle with data in v9....processor shortcomings highlighted, also map size will restrict how much you can load into it at any one time....depends on version you get with it, maybe worth just sticking to that and allowing for some of it being a bit out of date...adds to the fun of touring!

a bit out of date lol my house was built 5 year ago and it thinks its a dirt track
(live in portugal)
might try v8 first then

I too, have a StreetPilot 111 for some years now. It came with version 7 City Navigator and I had version 8 update free as the update was out before I bought the gps.
Later I bought an unlock code and received version 9 from Garmin.

how did the v9 work was it ok ?
is it posible to leave waypoints and poi out to make it faster ,
also i did notice the map of the algarve wich i selected in each v9 then 2008 then 2009 only about 1 meg difrence 12meg in total not alot of info in ther


so has anyone any idea on my earlyer question about v8/v9/ and the 2008 /2009 did they just change from version number to the year ??? so they follow on

also whats the difrence in the NT version what dose NT stand for ?

All I mangaed to get on my 256mb card was England and Ireland.
I do have a spare 128mb card so I could get some more on that and carry it with me.

I don't plan trips on computer and send to card. I just use the gps as a way of finding my way to places. I.E. I type in address and let the gps work out which way to go.

Not sure what the difference in NT is.

Punisher, you need the non-"NT" version for your machine. Maps are the same, method of compression varies.

sounds like he dose not have the unlock code for the maps but shouldent be a prob i already got key gen for all than as the one i just got on ebay has no codes
wil let you no how i get on
the map code must match the unit id or something or it will not let you upload it
how much is it ???
i payed just under £100 but it comes with a tourtech mount so im happy
