Newbie: who can fix my 1150 Hampshire Wiltshire?

Hello all,

I actually have an 1150RT (sorry!) and the engine has started running really rough. I have had the mechanics who service it replace the throttle bodies as the butterflies were were really worn (65k miles), but this has not solved the problem. There is oil being blown up into the air box, and I think the crank case is under excessive pressure. The bike stumbles and stalls at tick over and is very down on power: it will hardly accelerate at all in 6th gear, and I can hear the engine misfiring. The servicing chaps are not BMW specialists and I need some specialist help.

So, all this is beyond me, and I think there is something fundamentally wrong with the engine (piston rings?) and I need some expert help to diagnose and possibly fix if viable.

Can anyone recommend someone who could help? I am near Andover, Hampshire but can take the bike anywhere in the south within reason as I have access to a trailer.

Is it a single or twin spark engine?.
If it's a twin-spark,you may have a plugstick breaking down.

Thank you all for kind replies. I have booked into Neil at the GS Shop as per your recommendations. Keeping my fingers crossed it isn't terminal, especially having gone through all the pain of diagnosing and replacing the ABS brake servo unit last year - I have become something of an expert on these ;-)

Well, that's what I thought it sounded like, however the mechanics said all 4 coil packs checked out OK, but probably worth another look.
