As above, I have just bought a 390lm and I am pretty pleased so far. A Couple of questions though. I have a Samsung galaxy s4 phone and although it connects via bluetooth when I select the phone calls option i.e. use the zumo to take calls it just shows no headset on the satnav so won't allow calls. I will be using the zumo with my phone through to my inter phone f5mc and want to take/make calls but display numbers etc on the sat nav screen (this is how it worked with my old tom-tom.) Also from the map view if you click on the bike icon it will go to a screen showing where you are with coordinates that can be saved, an address and the nearest junction. There are also 4 icons down the side showing hospitals, police stations, fuel, AA. Can these icons be customised i.e. remove AA and add parking or restaurant etc? I will hopefully getting to grips with basecamp but assume you can also use sites like Tourstart and google maps for making routes etc? Thanks for any comments.

I have just bought one too and will watch for any replies with interest, I would be interested in knowing what headsets work best with this device.

Same here - Zumo 390 does not want to pair with the cheap headset from Lidl - headset happily pairs with my HTC phone so I suspect this is a "Garmin does things differently thing" adding something bespoke to a universal standard...

If your phone is paired to your headset, it will connect to that by default, and not the Zumo. You will need to unpair the phone and headset to allow the phone and Zumo to connect.

I had this problem with my Sena and S5.

Good luck.

So i pair garmin and F5, then F5 and phone? This is then 2 items paired to f5 so it won't pair to another intercom? It is still saying no headset, if I used garmin in the car then I just want it to go through phone and show calls onscreen so I won't have a headset linked in (or do I need to wear my helmet and F5 in the car ??)

No, phone to Garmin then Garmin to f5. The Garmin acts as a bridge between the phone and f5. This is how it works on the Zumo 660/590 so assume the 390 is the same.

As mentioned above though, it's vital there is no pairing between phone and f5

Exactly as daesimps says has ways worked for my 550 and my 590. In respect of customizing the icons on your screen. You can do this in settings on the 590 so hopefully you can with a 390 too.

Start by un pairing everything, so nothing is connected to each other. With the headset turned off pair the Phone to the Zumo. The Zumo may ask for the phonebook to be transmitted to the Zumo. Click on the 'Don't show this again', and allow. Once that is done, turn off the Phone, and pair the zumo with the headset.

This is how I connected my 590/S5/Sena, and it all connects up automatically when turned on.

Good luck.

ok, unpaired everything, start garmin, turn on bluetooth on phone showing discoverable, garmin searches and finds phone, all ok for a few seconds then garmin shows "No headset connection found. Phone call service is not available. Please connect a headset". Garmin then disconnects phone. So I presume there is a tick box ticked that doesnt want to be or that needs ticking somewhere. This is before I attempt to connect to F5mc or turn it on.

That's expected behaviour. If the f5 isn't connected then the Zumo knows you can't make a call as you have no microphone or speaker, so it disables the phone option.

Pair the f5 and make sure it's turned on, then see what happens. Make absolutely sure the f5 isn't paired with the phone, just the Zumo. Most headsets don't have an option to delete individual pairings, so you delete them all from the f5 and make sure you delete the f5 pairing from the phone end too.

So I assume I cant use the garmin with just the phone ie in my car? I thought it had a built in mic and speaker but maybe not. I only really wanted the option to use the garmin screen for the phone functions as it works better with gloves rather than having to take off my gloves and work the phone.

Update !!
Now connected to the f5 and it now connected fine to both and calls no problems. It still however wont connect to just the phone so I cant use it without the helmet ! Should be interesting driving my van !

I don't think they have been designed to work with a phone in the car mounts which is a shame because similar spec Nuvis that cost £100 odd quid do.........
