I originally found the UKGSer website from a link on Tobers website.

All this time I've been umming and ahing about whether to buy some tobinators or not. I've played around with three screens and never got what I needed from them.

I eventually ordered some tobinators from Nippy Norman (ordered Thu pm arrived Sat am) and I would like to say:

1) Thanks for the top service (again) Norman :beerjug:

2) Thanks for inventing these Tobers - what a great product. :clap

3) If you are umming and ahing like I was just buy some. It's the single best mod I've done to the bike.

Ta very much - love the feedback. Glad the sales linkup with Nippy is working as we expected too.

Recent bought a brand new Adventure, thought the wind noise was a bit much so looked around and found Nippy's site and found the Tobers.

Have fitted them, but still not sure about the noise level. I have a couple of problems and perhaps someone here could help.

First, I am not a lover of looking through a bike screen as since it has no windscreen wiper it doesn't take much on a bad day to end up unable to see clearly through it. So the helpful suggestion in the instruction of starting with them all the way up at the front, meant that I was looking straight through the screen.

Secondly having fitted them in the lowest position at the front I have had to slide the screen forward so as not to foul the handlebars, I now get an annoying reflection from the headlamp on the the screen as the base is slightly ahead of the screen.

Does anyone have any help suggestions as to an optimum position to reduce the wind noise but without having to look through the screen.

Hi Billie boy

I found that the wind noise was for me was caused by the wind coming off the Hand guards, and hitting my shoulders.
I fitted the TT guard tips, and bar risers. This removed almost all the noise.

The other problem i had being 6ft2,and useing a Tourcross helmet, the wind was hitting the peak, and making it a pain in the neck if you were on the Motorway for any lenght of time.

the mod i did may not look the best ,but it sure does work, and i look over it not through it.

I removed the visor from a grinding mask, and fitted to the screen.I can now ride ant any speed, with my helmet visor open, and get very little wind noise.

Its worth a go,and cost about £10,and can be removed without damaging your screen if you dont like it.

Get the sidepods from Arai and you can remove the peak from your helemet if your doing a lot of motorway miles.

Hope this helps!

Bar risers (which I got from our Nippy) will stop the screen fouling the bars and gives you lots more angles to play with. I also get some reflected light on the screen (I've got the TT light guard too) and am thinking of making up some sort of blanking plate to stop this but it more of a nuisance than a problem for me.

The bar risers will also alter your seating position and should help you see over the screen. I'm 6ft0 and have the screen upright and can see over it.

I bought my Tobinators last autumn but only got round to fitting them a couple of months ago.

I've found a position where I get no buffeting, but I'm finding difficulty with wind noise. If I duck down just a smidgen it almost disappears, which suggest that moving the screen a few microns may fix the problem.

FWIW, my screen lays quite flat with the wind blowing on to my chest. The best thing is that in the rain, the draft keeps my visor quite clear.

The worst bit at this time of year is that I seem to collect quite a few insects SPLAT on to the visor :(

I agree with the original comment regarding the tobinators, ordered mine from NN on Thursday, fitted Saturday morning, buffetting and excessive wind noise disappeared 30 minutes later. Setting as per the instructions, 3 notches from top on the front adjusters and 1 from top on the side adjusters. The best £30 spent on the bike as it has transformed the riding experience

phc1058 may I ask how tall you are? This seems to have the biggest effect on screen effectiveness.
