Hi all, just a quick question regarding the heated grips.
Can you tell me what fuse number and what amp is the fuse for heated grips.

Anything else i should be looking at that will give me an idea as to why the grips arent working?

regards

Fozzie.

If its not the fuse its likely the heating element in the grip has snapped or the cable running to it has broken. If its not the fuse, get the grip off and have a looksee with a multimeter at the wires going straight into the grip on its inner edge.

Here is the fusebox, the fuse you will be looking for is Fuse No: 7. It holds 4 Amps.

The layout is for the 1100GS, but i believe they should be the same in 1150GS.

If only one side is de-funct than probably a broken wire in the heating element. Same happened to me last week. After much research n this site i decided to go for a replacement rather than a soldering job on the wire. A replacement sat me back 80 EUR here in Turkey, i guess would be much cheaper over there.

Anyway, if both side are no-go, better look downstream, connectors under the fuel tank, blown fuse, something wrong with the on/off switch?...

More likely you have damaged the wire pulling the bike up onto the centre stand by the bars. (of course it could be the fuse or even the switch) but i believe that wire damage is a known issue.

thanks for the replies, we will delve a little deeper next weekend to try and sort it out.

The fuse is fine and both dont work.
