Im looking at buying my first Gs and looking for an f800, problem is, I'm way out of my pricing comfort zone. I ride, build and generally play around with old bikes but fancy something modern and commutable for the winter.
Narrowed it down to an f800gs (sensible option and if i get on with it, I may keep and get a few trips done, I will also take it offload where possible, 'cus i can!) and a KTM 950 supermoto (non sensible option)
I have seen a few F800's but hard to find any local and the only one seems to be dealer money rather than private (which it is) its a 2011 with 17k miles and seller won't budge past £4800. Few extras but nothing special, engine bars, pannier racks (no panniers) and thats about it. needs new chain and sprockets, badly and is missing a fair bit of paint for the age, from front of motor (I know bmw are renowned for this on the 800 but still)
Question is, am i right that this is a £4k bike and should walk away (bearing in mind, if i don't get on with it I don't want a big loss)
