I'm one of the lucky ones who just got a cheap Quest from Halfords :clap

Popped in on Ram Man late on Friday, great service after hours, many thanks Steve :thumb Sorry I was late - got lost ! :o

Now here's the problem, everythings set up as it should be on Ram mount with AQC 2.5mm jack into autocom unit, Quest is battery powered, English UK voice downloaded from set up disc, but no voice from unit. :nenau Volume set on max, 'motorcycle bud headphones' text appears on screen when setting volume. Tried with autocom and then with personal headphones - nuffink !!

Any ideas anyone???

ACQ output is mono - could this be the problem in any way?

Thanks Gypsy, but Ram Man assures me his adaptor is specifically designed for non bike powered audio - any other ideas ??

Burf,

I assume process of elimination has been done.

Quest with the car mount and power speaker to check audio speaker cradle unit ?. If yes but when put into the RAM cradle with ACQ, then ACQ may be a fault or the headphone unit itself ?. ACQ (similar) to QPAC has a two pin contact pair to allow an audio thru port.

Call me later, if you need help. If there's a scratching head smilie, I need one.

Thanks Steve, I'll call you later.

Process of elimination has been accelerated - Garmin eliminated the car mount from the box !! It's on order, but means I can't do the check.

I've tried moving the jack in and out and tried other headphones - I guess they could be bu66ered as well, they're a cheap old set - only ones with a 2.5mm jack.

Ho hum

I had the same problem on Saturday with my 2720 / Autocom
I spaced the autocom lead to the garmin lead, infact I used an old AA card, drilled a 3mm hole then put the Jack plug through it - - perfect, then I trimmed the cards down so it looked like a mini polo. :thumb

Sorted :D

.....and prizes go to Metro and Bobble (your 10 shilling postal orders are being mailed as I type)

Spent a happy hour in the garage last night, fiddling with another set of earphones, very gently easing in and out of socket -ooh err -at one point got sound, but very sensitive as to position

Next step drilled hole in (wifes) credit card - double bonus there !! - and used as shim - result! :thumb

Then tried on autocom - nuffink !! :(

Had a spare autocom telephone lead, tried that with shim and joy of joys - I've got sound :bounce1 :bounce1 :bounce1 (didn't know phone lead was knackered as I haven't used since I got my razor phone - no connector available apparently)

So many thanks to one and all
