Help ,
The volume doesn't work on my computer - it was working earlier this evening , when I listened to some music from one of my folders .
Turned it off , went back an hour later ........... sound won't work ?
I'm a techno dinosaur , but I have checked the connections and leads [ to speakers ] and all is in place - also tried plugging earphones in but no joy .
Went on Control panel , looked at volume settings , all seems ok .but still no sound ?
When I play a song on WMP , you can see the bars moving up and down , but no volume with speakers or headphones ........ also checked on the internet , can't hear anything if I try to play video from You tube etc .

ANY IDEAS ??

Go to

Start>control panel>sound and audio devices> and make sure it's not muted there...(oops, re-read your post and you've done that)...then click the advanced button , voice , advanced again and check all along the master volume line ...sometimes one can get muted when another programme takes over a player :nenau

From the same place, check the options tag and make sure it's showing all the outputs/inputs- it may be one that's not shown that is muted.

Thanks ,
I posted this elsewhere as well , and managed to sort it .
I had to do a system restore , that fixed it .

Appreciate the advice all the same ,

Steve
