Hello there
this is not the usual noise from stuck pads, it's a single isolated noise just when I start breaking. If I grab one of the discs keeping the wheel still, and I move it along the circumference I hear the noise again.
Undoing the 5 torx bolts I noticed that the bushes (the ones the bolts go in) are worn where they touch the disc, so some play has developed between disc and bushes.
I turned the bushes but the noise is still there, maybe abit quiter.
Dont think it's something to worry about, what to you guys think?
Have you come accross this prob?

Bike is 1150GS with 11k

Cheers

The discs are supposed to 'float' on the bobbins, so some play is normal. Don't know what your noise is, however. Compare it to another GS??

brake noise

is it a clunk when the brakes are applied even when pushing the bike about? has it got after market pads - could be the pads rattling about.

Yep it's a clunk, one off. It's not from the pads, it's the disc hitting the bobbins. Yes the disc is supposed to float, but along the wheel's axle not along the circumference...

You can buy the "bobbins" as replacement kit, they do wear out, if you've left them to long, to save yourself some money, well you haven't because the locating holes wear oval and the new bobbins will be fecked in no time.

 ;)
