Non ABS Brakes

I must disagree that there is no feel to servo brakes - it may seem like that at first but you soon get used to them. I live at the top of a hill and the road down is steep & in 2 kms has twenty corners, two of them acute hairpins - the town is 300 feet lower. The road is narrow and much favoured by the ladies in their 4 x 4's which cannot stay on the right side of the white line, particularly if the driver is smoking and on her telephone. Perhaps I get a little more practice than average but the servo is a great help.

Isn't this a little like the frequent use of the brakes ie repeated and frequent useage, which is mentioned as being a possible cause of brake failure?

I believe that the new R1200S has ABS and no servo - only bike in the BMW to have this set-up - are BMW trying to tell us something?
I've got ABS/servo set-up and find it's great - although I might disagree if the brakes fail and cause a bit of an incident.

Thats interesting if correct. Will need to check it with the dealer. I could live with a mechanical non servo system if it is available.

That would work for me, I dont see any need for the servo on a bike, its a throw back to the old days of dodgy car brakes were you needed any help you could get to stop!!!
