Non GS Exhaust blowing - MOT failure?

Due to take my non GS in for an MOT tomorrow. Just noticed a small pinhole in a weld along the stailnless exhaust link pipe - no corrosion, obviously just a defect in the welding I guess. Anyway, no chance of getting it welded in time.

I know that a blowing exhaust will fail a car MOT, presumably because exhaust fumes could enter the car, but does this apply to bikes? I'm sure my old Thundercat had a small designed in drain hole on the underside of the can to let standing water out, but it did also let a bit of gas escape?????

Quick repair - have you any silicon sealant? The bathroom and kitchen stuff. Stick a gobbette in/over the hole and leave overnight to cure.

Is that a suitable fix for a bike with a lambda probe?

It was silicone contamination that caused all the recent fuel problems from supermarket petrol, but it's not obvious just how much or how little silicone it takes to kill the probe.

As long as it's a tiny hole and not blowing excessively or making a racket it should pass

I think exhaust sealant might do the job. Can anyone confirm this?

it's a fail if they find it.

they normally put a hand over the exhaust & listen. can you hear it blowing doing that?

i can also confirm, that before i realised silicone was poisonous to lambda sensors, i regularly gobbed up my 1150 pipes with B & Q's finest to eliminate air leaks, with no detriment to the probe

bike in question here is not a GS & may not have one anyway

Either its not an MOT failure or it was too small for the tester to spot because it passed

im an mot tester holes only fail if there 1,noisy, 2 exaust badly corroded,3 tester is a tight arse an wants to make money out of u in repairs
