North Wales / Flintshire - Need alarm sorting?

Hi Folks,
The alarm on my 1150gs has died and needs to be looked at.
Can anyone recommend anywhere / anyone who you trust to look at your bike and possibley remove an alarm.
Not a job I want to leave to someone who don't know waht they are doing.

Having had the bike off the road for a while, it just passed its mot and was out on sat, but alarm now dead on sunday.

DIY dude.
Start from the black box and work each wire at a time.
There should be wiring diagrams available, just put the model of the alarm into google.
There'll be a main 12v feed, an earth, a beacon signal to flash indicators, a sounder signal to horn/siren, and an ignition in and ignition out. There may also be an arming device if it was a 'fob' type alarm instead of remote control.

Done a bit of googling and it appears the meta531a which I believe it to be, do tend to go pop around 8-10years of age.

Couldn't find a wiring diagram. But the main reason for wanting to find someone proffesional to do it, is I am just not confident in my electronic/soldering skills enough to want to tackle it my self to be honest. Also I suspect it will require a complete tank removal, which never done. As tank has no quick connectors, not being a gsa and not having had them fitted.

I would rather pay for soeone who knows what they are doing and get it done right. Well hope it is done right.

thin on the ground

motorcycle auto electrical expertise in north wales is very thin on the ground. Even the main garages may only have one guy who would 'do his best'. I have previously used jasper at 'good motoring' in mochdre. due to the lack of choice in where to go i feel its worth paying when you do find someone.

I have managed to find a chap who can sort it.
But it appears it might not need sorting after all. The issue appears to have been the fact the internal battery for the alarm ran flat.

As the old bike battery went totally flat, the new one was able to put some voltage into the alarm batterys enough to get it to dissengage, but when I armed it after my runs out, it flattened the internal battery again and that set the unit doing silly things.

Since it has now been on the optimate again for a while it appears to have settled down once more and be working fine. So have left it alone for the moment, whilst i test it over the next couple of weeks and see.

If it does anything silly again, i will get it removed, now I have the right contacts to get it done properly.
