:jager:jagerhas anybody ridden from zarragossa north over mountains to france, i am lookin for some good overnight stops. the trip will be done in june after wsbk race in arragon.

I stayed in a great campsite (well crap actually, but it was cheap, and the location was fantastic) 'en route' to the Tour de France last year. I'll see if I can find the directions etc. I'm fairly sure I've got a pic somewhere. We passed right by the circuit on the way to the Pyrenees.

I would recommend Jaca, due North of Zaragoza and 30km South of French border. Jaca has dozens of hotels and hundreds of bars and restaurants. In June you won't need to book in advance.

You could take the highway but it's boring on a bike, stay a bit west of Zaragoza on small roads and approach Jaca through Anzanigo (there's a campsite in Anzanigo).

From Jaca you can take the Somport tunnel (8km long) to france or the mountain pass, it will depend on the weather and in June you're likely to get thunder storms in the late afternoon in the mountains.

The Pyrenees are lovely, enjoy them and the roads are fantastic

:thumb2 for Jaca as well. Stayed there last May and managed to get a superb single b an b for 30 euros. Plenty of places to eat and drink, all in all a nice place to stop over. :thumb

We stayed in a camping hut for the night on the NA-137 near Roncal, then continued over the pass into France.

If your interested in more details, let me know

Then we came back over the n134/n330 to Jaca which was a friendly small town, but only had lunch before moving on.

Gaaaaaaawd, I remember that site, fantastic place :thumb2 Shooting stars at night, good laughs and great roads and decent weather. And the rider on that Duke ran over a snake when we headed out that night!

...and here we are in a wet, cold March with salty roads.
