does anyone know much about Tyre Slime? The stuff that let's your tyres down gently if you get a puncture etc. I had some added when I last had the tyres changed, but recently have heard it corrodes the rims and many tyre places now won't touch the stuff.
Is there anything new around that is good, does the same job without corrosion?

There are a few threads on here, both for and against, if you use the search function.

My opinion is it's not worth the hassle. It's messy stuff and in my opinion you are better off getting a stop and go puncture repair kit and small pump if the worst happens when you are out on a ride. I don't think it corrodes anything but it is a right bloody mess at tyre changing time.

Agreed regarding what is stated here, but he missed something. I put it in both car and bike tyres, and found it did not work.
On a minor puncture, the tyres still went down at the same rate. It does not work at all on large ones. So you give a fortune for this stuff, and have to dump it with rear tyre every 6,000 miles or so when you change the tyre.
Fool's gold. Yes, I was one of the fools.

It is corrosive and the tyre fitters detest the stuff.

Bargepoles dipped in Dettol etc.
