Looking for a way out
I find that the travel on the grip is so looong that I struggle to get full throttle without either grabing another grip or contorting my wrist and arm.
Is there any way of increasing the throttle opening for the same twist?
cheers,
Jim

Throttle Cable Mod

Cut a cam type profile out of a piece of hard plastic and glue in the throttle cable twistgrip cable pulley thingy to achieve more lift.

Experiment with profile to achieve smooth and progressive action.

I know Dennis Osborne did this mod but have not seen it.

Cheers

Hey, top idea Gerry :clap. I'm gonna give that a go & I'll post how I get on when it's all completed.

Elemental, my son

release the grip (allen somewhere) and twist the grip away from you. You'll start the twist higher but your hand wi'll stay flat when fully open. Paly with the setting before thigtening back...

Thanks,
Gerry, I get the general idea of what you are saying, but which end are you sticking this plastic, grip or butterflies? It would probably help if I went out and had a look at the bike, but I'm at work.

Yosi, I'm confused. surely this is just the same as starting with my grip higher  Or are you suggesting moving the whole assembly, levels and all.

Grip

Yes, my son. That's what you do. Turn the whole assembly up about half a inch and enjoy it. Then you can play up and down till you get your personal setting.

hey jimbo - i'm really intrigued by this mod, the amount of travel bugs me a bit too. i'm not really understanding the process described for fixing this so let us know how you get on once it's done!!

hope it works and hope its easy to do ;-)

Tonight I shall retire to my garage (with a beer of course), and start twisting and opening bits. I'll arm myself with my cheapo digital camera, and maybe soon I'll be able to offer advice, rather than just ask questions...
Jimbo.

What a man does in his garage is entirely his own affair.
What are the board rules about dubious picture postings?

Is it significant I have just become a 'member'?

Iffy......

"What a man does in his garage is entirely his own affair."
