NOTIFICATION OF A GPS JAMMING EXERCISE SENNYBRIDGE TRAINING AREA, WALES

Dates: Between 11–15, 18-22, and 25-29 June 2012 inclusive
Times: : BETWEEN 0900 BST AND 1800 BST.

Location of jammers: Land based within 5km of N52° 00.881’ W003° 38.518’ (SN873365 – Dixie’s Corner)

Frequency: 24 MHz bands centred around 1176.45 MHz (GPS L5), 1227.60MHz (GPS L2) and 1575.42MHz (GPS L1)

Total Power: Up to 10 Watts EIRP. Whenever possible the transmissions will be at lower powers.

It is stressed that, as in previous exercises, Safety of Life operations will at all times take precedence over exercise activities.

It's a tiny little area a few miles ENE of Llandovery, just north of the Brecon Beacons.

Dixie corner is and always has been a CP location for the majority of the army training on the brecons nothing sinister occurring IMHO. The army, navy, even the marines use this area and most often as not the DS directing staff make their camp at Dixies... So why would we assume it is the SAS. Most likely the Signals...

Besides the SAS don't get involved in Signalling per say they have a whole regiment of comms support who do it for them...

If you are interested in SAS specialist training look on google earth and search for Pontrilas there is a base there called PATA. Garrabach Coppice and Big Birches Wood...
