Northumberland and Holy Island were well worth the visit, Kilder, then Hadrain's Wall at Vindolanda, follow the wall across country then back through the Lakes.
Could take in a few of the Yorkshire passes on the way up or back. Ryenose, Horse shoe and the other one.
