After a recent sporting event, i have a large list of results.(times/names etc but not in 1st, 2nd, 3rd order)
They are however, in alphabetical order. Does anyone know of a simple progrmme that I could use to perhaps copy/paste all the times to so that I can see the list in "quckest to slowest format" at all ???????

Thanks

If you haven't got a copy of Excel to hand, download OpenOffice and use the spreadsheet in there, Calc.

You don't even need a spreadsheet, though. If you create a table in Word or similar word processor, like OpenOffice Writer, there's generally a table sorting option to sort on a particular column. You will need to tell it to sort numerically and not alphabetically.

Cheers guys, ill try it.
Do you know if it has to be a modern version edition of Excel ????

As above, just put the names in one column and the times beside each name in the next column then just sort by the times column. Don't select the times column though or it will only sort them (the selected section) and not the names with it. Any spreadsheet will do it, Excel, Openoffice Calc, or Google Docs.
