Just a quick question, I will be about 40 milles from the ring in just over a weeks time on the way to Austria. Thinking about calling in and maybe doing a lap. My concern is I will have a Gortex jacket on with leather trousers is this acceptable or do you need full leathers?:nenau

When I went round it last year they did not even look at my kit - so enjoy :thumb2

you'll be fine, although a Twat suit is preferable :augie

Thanks for all the replies:thumb

That's all good news, I know my missus is up for coming round on pillion. Lets hope we have time now and the weather is good. Never done any sort of track riding so a slow(ish) ride will be the call of the day if we make it:eek:

Some where on this site there is a very good thread on dos and don'ts on the circuit. Remember you might be riding nice and safely but could be mowed down by something else. Topgear did it in a Transit and I think buses, ambulances and even caravans have been round.

Actually the twisties and the road surface around the track are so good you might get some practice on that first and enjoy it more!

Yep did the ring a few days ago in my textiles, what a buzz!! Enjoy and don't forget to indicate as you see the BMW M5 catching you QUICK!!!!

The 'Ring is unbelievably hyped, often simply to increase the cajones of those that have been.....

As odd as it seems, Herr Beemer Fumph, in his £50,000 car is in no great hurry to smash it into your £6,000 motorcycle.

Like most fast roads, take a bit of care and all will, more often than not, be fine.

Dawdle around at 45 mph like a Nancy and it gets hard work....just like the M1 to Birmingham.

Since when did the M1 go to Birmingham?

North of Watford.... Good enough for me.

Thanks for the information me and the wife managed a dry lap of the ring yesterday morning:eek:

Probably the slowest lap of the day but we enjoyed it:cool:

We will have to go back and do it again:bounce1

Now stuck in a wet Samerberg, hope the weather clears up and we can do the Grossglockner tomorrow:nenau
