Nurburgring next week 17/6/09

Hi guys going to the nurburgring next week, been loads of times before but mainly for the track, this time we want to explore the area, been doing a bit of research on here and on german tourist sites, anyone been to the following and can you rate them or add others I have missed,

Not stayed in these places, but rode through a couple of times. Had lunch at Cochem, beautiful part of Germany. There are some write ups on here with more detail if you search on the names they may bring up more info.

Been to that area several time, it is a good stopping off place on the first/last nights from/to the ferry.
Cochem is a cracking wee place, a bit tourist/ but really nice.
There are a couple of good camp sites and lost of guest houses. There are lots of nice restaurants and some friendly wee bars too. It's also a great centre for exploring the Mosel area, including all the places you have listed.
It has the obligatory fairy tale castle in the centre of the town and there are cruises up and down the Mosel too, not to mention lots of little wine cellars selling their own local made wine from the surrounding slopes. The chair lift is worth a trip too for its amazing views of the area.

I'm off to that area on Thurs for 6 days so will let you know when I get back. We're staying at the Ibis in Koblenz for 3 nights and touring out from there with hopefully a trip to the "ring" on Sunday morning.

just got back from there on the sunday ferry from amsterdam. there is aload of building work going on at the nuburgring and i mean a load. we stayed at cochem for a couple of nights it is a pretty little place with plenty of bars and places to stay and eat. we stayed at the guesthouse miltz for 19euros per person per night its cheap clean and has parking for the bikes. we visted most of the other places and they are all ok. then we went to the black forrest for a few days then headed back up to cochem for another night. we had shit weather most of the week saturday rain all day we rode in it for four hours and it took two days to get our kit dry on the radiators sunday heavy showers monday showers infact most of the week was heavy showers wednesday was dry but cold the best day was friday when we were heading up to arnhen and saturday it was good when we were waiting to catch the ferry home
