Nuvi 770

I bought a nuvi 770 from a guy I know. But as he registered it I cant re register it to get updates. Will garmin help me or how is it done ?

PS... I only need it for spain so not the end of the world but Im curious to see if Garmin want my money for updated maps.

Ideally get your mate to call Garmin & de-register. Failing that, give them a call yourself; they are normally very helpful, though with an eye on the 'stolen' Market.

The 770 is a very good unit, with US maps installed. It can also import routes.

With him being the registered owner they'll have his email address. Ring them and ask them to confirm the sale with the registered owner, they'll email him, he then replies confirming that he's sold the unit to you and they de-register which allows you to add it to your myGarmin account.

That's how it worked when I sold my Quest a couple of months ago. Only took a couple of hours from my email before the new owner was able to register in his name.
