I have an odd one that has me stumped. My bike starts and runs fine however, no headlights, horn, indicators or heated grips. Unfortunately this is intermittent.

Sometimes the bike starts and runs with all the electrics working but recently when I turn the key the hazard indicator switch glows red then fades away, once faded none of the electrics work.

I'm guessing battery but that does not seem to fit the problem. I've checked the earthing but again if that was the problem then it would be consistent.

I'm stumped.

Is it not the loom to the ignition switch problem, because that's a common problem, wires breaking in the loom where it's to tight and flexes when the bars are turned?

Try swopping your load relief relay with the horn relay and see if the symptoms apart from horn improoves.

You might have a faulty relay.

Yes, you got it! Did the swap this morning and it is all good. Looks like it had been replaced before with a yellow relay which has given up. I was getting worried as each subsequent potential issue was getting more expensive.

I owe you a beer :-)

It should be yellow. But it shares the same layout as a black relay, so it's OK to substitute for fault diagnosis.

I think the yellow relays are capable of carrying a higher current load than the black, so when you come to replace it, make sure you replace it with another yellow one 61366902041.
