I was out in the van today collecting a bike somewhere to the West of Edinburgh and using my nüvi 760T to find my way around, as I'd already been to Banchory in Aberdeenshire. I don't use this GPS very often as I usually use my Zumo 660 both on the bike and in the car. As a result of this, the nüvi hasn't been connected to a computer since who knows when and is still running pretty old maps and probably a software version which isn't current.
I was parked in an Edinburgh suburb and tried to make a call on my iPhone, using the GPS as a Bluetooth hub. I'd already done this on three or four occasions earlier in the day. This time however, the screen displayed a message "Updating Bluetooth Firmware". Ehh......updating it from where?
Where did it get this update from? It wasn't connected to a computer or to the Internet via any other modem. Surely it doesn't download firmware from a satellite. In the process, it seems to have changed some other settings and the navigation voice has changed from a female English voice to a female US one.
Yours, confused of Fife.
