Been looking to replace the battery with an Odyssey. Motorworks recommend the PC310. I've looked at it on their website. It's 86mm deep. The existing battery is 80mm deep and is a snug fit. There is no way I'd get the Odyssey in to the space.

Spoke to Motorworks who've not come across this problem.

Anybody out there have any experience?

PS It could easily be me not being the brightest spark battery/mechanicalwise:aidan

I have the '02 Dakar and have fitted the little diddy Odyssey battery shown on bottom left of piccy. Sorry- can't remember model number-

Just slides in when you dump the breather tube (no longer required)
But it is shorter than OE so you will need to extend your HT leads or prop up the battery on something.

Having said that- seldom are 2 bikes ever alike blast so had a wee bit of fun when getting rid of the hard oil return line!

Dunno if it helps but the PC310 certainly fits in my XChallenge. You gain some space over OEM batteries by having flatter terminals on top.
