Odyssey battery + BMW charger?

Having had the original battery replaced under warranty three years ago it is once again starting to have trouble turning over the engine especially when cold (the weather that is).

I was thinking of getting an Odyssey battery but ideally want to retain my BMW charger which I use via the auxilliary socket.

When I spoke to Motorworks they implied that I probably needed to get a Ctech charger for the Odyssey, so I wondered if anyone had used the BMW charger and Odyssey combination successfully...

Just been reading up about chargers and batteries and from what I can gather its Odyssey that says you need a Ctek charger. Nothing to say any other charger wont work as of course they should but you might have problems with warranty claims. Course they would never know if you dont tell them
