Just wondered if anybody knows anything about the off road area alongside the M18 between junction 4 and 5? It's the one area nearer to J5, not the proper off road track at J4.

Is it open to anybody to go and play or private property etc etc?? Any info appreciated.

Looking for somewhere safe to practice and get experience on my trailie, before conquering the Lake District in June :D

Thanks.

A good number of folk use Steetly Quarry, Conisbrough. The owners of the quarry don't mind but the police take a dim view because of the activity of a few stolen bikes down there .... plus cars parking on the main A630.

A630 Doncaster towards Conisbrough turn down by the side of the water tower on your right, just before Conisbrough. Acres and acres of good offloading to be had :thumb

I rode this nice lane today as part of a 107 mile run around the dales.

Found a bit of off road

We did a few green lanes between Brid and Wetwang then went for chips :bounce1

Is it still safe to ride here or have the police clamped it down yet ? Was thinking of taking my son on his bike.

I've not been for a few years, but if I was to go I'd take my numberplate off, just in case. If you're in a vehicle there's room to park at Sprotborough hairpin, then ride along the old quarry road until it goes under the railway, where you can get into the woods, through the woods, and you come to the quarry. A great place to ride, I saw Tony Scarlet there once when he was fourth in the world championships, he made it look easy.

Dunno but not seen any activity for a couple of years .... the few times I've been past! All gone a bit quiet.
