Hi

Having worked up in Cape Wrath area many years ago I would like to go back to see what off road routes there are - which could be manageable on a GS650. Any ideas?

There is a track that goes from nr Lairg N.E. to the most northerly monroe, trails such as these are they useable or will I get shot by the land owners?

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Cheers

No, of course you won't get shot by the landowners. They'd most likely get their gamekeepers to do it.....

The places where you can legally ride off the highway in Scotland are so few and far between as to be effectively non-existent.

+1

The tracks tend to be owned by the Estate that owns the surrounding land. There's not really a network of accessable 'Green Lanes' as you'd recognise in England - the same goes for public footpath networks.

The only thing I could suggest is doing a bit of homework and contacting the Estate Manager.

The thing about letting estate managers know what you are up to is, they will err on the side of caution and ban you from going on the land in case they are liable when you fall off.:blast

Doing your homework is a good idea, I tend to be choosy about where I go and contrite when they catch me.:augie

Sometimes works, sometimes they get really pissed, either way you've done the journey.

Anyway I am sure the usual opinionates will be along to tell you what to do.

Hope you have fun:clap
