On my previous Garmins (SP3 and 2720) you used to be able to define a destination and the "Off Road" option would show your route as a straight line from your current position to the destination. As you rode, the line would remain anchored to your (moving) current position whilst remaining connected to your destination, thus always giving you an updated direction to your destination
On the 660, it appears to work the same way, but when you start moving your end of the line remains in its original position, it doesn't stay anchored to your updated 'current' position. Hence, if you move too far of the route of the direct line, it disappears off the screen altogether... which I think is useless.
Is this the case with the 660? To me this is not an improvement
Or... have I got it wrong and not enabled this feature? I've searched high & low, but can't find a solution
