Off road tyres = Failed F-D

Is there a link between running dual sport type tyres and failed final drives ?,my GSA came with karoos and the enduro gearbox,final drive replaced at 6k,anyone else with same story?,now running k60's that roll much smoother on the road

Doubt it mines failed on both 1 set of Tourances and 1 set of TKC's its more likely the first failed after 8 days all offroad in Portugal and 2 very muddy trips on Salisbury plain
Its a known weakness probably down to trying to save every last gram to keep it manageable offroad unlike the new Super Teneree.

My '08 GSA came with Karoos and Enduro box. At 46,000 miles now and no FD issues - yet. I have only ever fitted TKCs, Karoos , or just recently K-60s.

My 2005 GS FD failed after using the original Dunlops and a set of Bridgestone 020s. Then again after using Tourances.

My 2008 GSA failed after using the original Tourances.
