Hi All,

I am based in Fife and would like to take the plunge and start Green Laning. Please could anybody point me in the right direction of some clubs, meets in my local area.

Andrew ;)

There's really no such thing as "green laning" in Fife, or any other part of Scotland. We don't have RUPPs or BOATS. Any riding which you do off-road will be of questionable legality.

Weird up there?

This has always baffled me!
You can see dirt tracks go off into the mountains and I wonder where they go.
I only know of a few old military type roads were trail riding, shall we say, was tolerated. One of these such roads is the Correyairack Pass, details are below. But, be aware that posted recently on a 4x4 website, a large 'impassable' gate has been erected. A picture was posted and I reckon two of you could lift two pogos over as the centre of the gate was relieved to allow horses to step over. 4x4s had to turn around and retreat.
Do any of us know of any stories about trail riding in Scotland? Experiences, ie, types of trails, trouble with landowners/Police, etc. Not that I'm thinking of making an assault up there....

As schtum says, no legal bits ... except, you can go for a ride through Pitmedden forrest. Not very taxing mostly, but on a recent ride out Mr Forry and others were exploring the more ..lets say... 'private bits' of the forest tracks.
There are lots of these in Fife, and if you get caught I wouldnt imagine you would get into much trouble. Thats what I do and Ive never been captured yet.
Some nice bits in Tentsmuir forrest, but once again, yer no meant to be there and there are lots of walkers to shop you.
