so after our visit to walters arena to have a practice , and a chat with the landowner,

would anyone be interested in a weekend event, if it could be organised?

its such a big place and with a little effort we could persuade them to rent it to us once a year....

my problem is how we would Approach the owners and sell our meeting to them as some sort of competition/trial??

any ideas offers to take up the baton?
i have too many commitments at the mo to do this on my own!!

i have the contacts but its up to you lot..

over to you!!

Go and see that nice Mr Plumb,he asked us to attend his dawn till dusk enduro last year and further offered us the guided tour of the enduro course on the day before the race.I couldn't make it................
By all accounts it's a well attended event with some vendors and food stalls in attendance over the weekend and plenty of scope for camping, why not volunteer as a course marshall-he's bound to need lots of those and you get a grand stand seat for the action :nenau
Now, where would you find Mr Plumb to find out more information

He was at the Abercrave in Feb and rumour has it he works in the Swansea area somewhere ;)

Was he alright with you then? If he was the guy in the 4x4 that waved me down, he as good as told me to piss off and not come back again. :nenau

I went to the dawn till dusk last year, well busy watched some bloke from BMW take him knee appart.

there's a bloke (first name) selwyn something he teaches 4x4 skills up there he might be a contact to persue?

Selwyn manages the site on behalf of the owners, but he does so on a very commercial basis, and he's not cheap

The off-road club I help run (the Welsh Trail Riders Association) were offered the place to run an event before the Dawn to Dusk began. We spent a day looking around the site but ultimately Selwyn wanted more than we would be able to recover from reasonable entry fees and we weren't prepared to run the event at a loss.

I can only assume that Nick gets a particularly good rate through his association with BMW.

There is a RoW through the site (Sarn Helen) that also complicates matters a little and of course the local bikers use it as a playground / practice track and that makes getting suitable insurance for an official organised competition a little more difficult and expensive.

After spending some time trying to sort things out we decided it wasn't worth it and left it to Nick & Co to run the Dawn to Dusk, which they do very successfully.

cheers lads but im concerned??

if the shire landrover club could afford to attend for a w/e with only no more than eight attendee's . why is he so expensive?? for bikes?
i was reliably informed that the price depends on the amount of attendee's..
maybe they just dont like bikes?
it could have a huge potential but for somereason they play it down..

its still an idea. that i believe has legs..

I will be going by TT's place this week and could well pop in to have a chat with Nick if you like. I need a new 2610 mount anyway:blast
