Guys/Gals, hope you are all out riding this bank holiday weekend - it`s great weather and sadly I`m stuck in with covid :mad:and I feel crappy!

Anyhoo it`s given me time to develop a new service and the reason why I`m posting it is that you can actually do it yourself (if you want).

If you click on the link there`s an embedded video (I`ll try to post it as a seperate link but I am a Techno Biff) which is an overview to my (humble) observations having done the job.

It`s quite a tricky operation if you keep to the RSD (you can wing it and I respect the people who do!) least of all is disconnecting the ESA cables (think gyneacologist, small mirrors, great lighting & dentist tools!).

Anyway I`m here to help (rather than sell - I`m semi retired now and well into my wine studies) as I`ve had years of support from you all and if my experience can help anyone then everyone wins :D. My direct number is on my website and I`ll answer it even when I`m drunk but can`t gauruntee the speech quality :D.

Ride safe and apologies if I`ve ballsed up the links (see Techno Biff).

Is there a typo in your listing. It says £1300.

For £170 worth of springs and 3-4 hours of labour.

That's more than double what a main dealer would charge.

How do you justify it ?

Hi there my dealer quoted £1,700 for the back and £1,300 for the front however my justification is based on hours taken, a fair rate and the cost of springs (plus VAT of course). If anyone can get the same job done for significantly less I`d strongly suggest they do!

As an ex- Motorrad main dealer tech, I've done this many times. They've quoted you for two new genuine BMW lowered shocks. FITTED. You're just swapping the springs on the old shocks.

It's four hours for an experienced BMW tech working at normal pace to do that job. Assuming you have a proper workshop.

I'm an accredited BMW tech working for an independent dealer. Even we wouldn't charge half that price with the springs included. Inc VAT.

Just saying.
