Oh " F" it

.......the letter " F " has come off the family laptop - as usual, mr Nobody did it !

It's a Toshiba - anyone know how to put it back on - in laymans terms cos I ain't no good at DIY [ in our house DIY means Destroy it Yerself ] .

Usually just line it up correctly and push hard. Should click into place unless the plastic lugs are twatted.

If that doesn't work and you need the letters, they can be accessed using Alt codes.

Hold down the Alt key (and the Fn key for a laptop at the same time) and type the numbers from the numeric keypad on the keyboard, not the set along the top of the QWERTY keys. Usually the keys are M,J, K, L, U, I, O, 7, 8 and 9 ( you will see the small extra numbers on the keys). You must hold the two keys down, type the numbers in sequence and let go.

The capital F is Alt + Fn + 70 and the lower case f is Alt + Fn + 102

That is probably about as clear as mud but good luck
