for a 6ft man a sportster is just a toy ........way to small .Try a FXST with a low straight handlebar and you get something between a enfield and a GS. once you get used to where your legs are , you discover how well the thing handles and once your right hand has gained a bit of muscle you will be able to stop the bike within reason .... ....... I rode one for almost 25 years and don't quite understand why on earth you want a HD after having two great bikes :blast

Solidstate, I have a 2000 Fxdx very similar except in black, thinking about parting with. Mail me if interested and will send pics as don,t know how to put on this forum. Am in Norf
London

Strewth.....now you lot have me thinking about a big twin too.......

And there was me thinking I had the cruiser thing out of my system after a Rocket 3....:nenau

PS. Mac1, as you are not a subscriber I don't think we can mail you via this site..

Need to ask your opinion.
I'm going to purchase one. Soon is this. The way forward ? Want grunt and size so sportster not for me.
B

For me it's ok, plenty of grunt, reasonable brakes, goes round corners it's all the softail wasn't apart from the grunt. Got some bags on it now for touring, forward controls are quite comfy once you are used to them. It's not fast but if you want to go fast you should be looking at another manufacturer anyway.

Thanks again for all you comments - plenty to mull on:thumb2

Going to go to Warrs in the Kings Road and try a few out for size a bit later on next month, get a proper feel for the size of these beasts.

Keep the comments coming tho, all welcome!
