We are currently in Barcelona and are leaving in approx 36 hours for Morocco but one of our party has not got his UK driving licence-will this be a problem at the Moroccan border¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿
Any help much appreciated.

Not at the border, but it will be if you get pulled for a motoring offense, make sure you stop at every stop sign even if you can see the road is clear, and keep away from Tan Tan.. I got a 400DH fine there this year :blast

Oh and if you get pulled in Spain during a spot check, it is a €300 on the spot fine and your mate WILL NOT be able to continue his journey until he can prove he has a license... happened to me last year :mad:

If you have enough time before you leave Barcelona and there is someone at his home in the UK, get them to fax a copy of his license to your hotel... it may help :thumb2

isn't the "get out" for forgetting your license reporting your license lost to the spanish police straightaway, so if your stopped in spain you have some police documentation/proof :nenau

As Dec says, DHL / FedEx next day service. It's a dead cert they'll have daily deliveries from the UK.
 
As above, nobody will ask you for your license in Spain or in Morocco- UNTIL IT GOES WRONG:eek:

If you do have an accident or incident, or get stopped for speeding or anything ( The Spanish fuzz are very keen on nicking people for crossing white lines and there are more speed traps in Morocco year after year)
then you will need it or you could find you can't carry on...in Morocco your mate could be held at a police station until he can show a license.

Get yerself to a hotel and get it dhl'd in :rob

Look on the bright side- your mate is going to be buying all the beers for the rest of the trip for such a stupid cock-up :rolleyes::cool:

If you are passing by me you could have it dh,ld to my address and then pick it up on the way.Im only 10 mins from the A7 1 hr south of Valencia :thumb

I was driving along happily when the Guardia Civil just decided to stop me for doing absolutely nothing...... or did he have ESP and know my license was at home :(

Thanks for the replies guys. We got his mate to fax a copy over which was good enough for the insurance company in Morocco. Apart from that we didn't need it.
Morocco is a great place by the way, can't wait to return next year:thumb2
