Just fitted an ohlins rear shock to my 94 1100GS. I also have the rear t/t hard parts fitted. Where the remote adjuster bolts to the footpeg on the left side, it is a VERY close fit, with the adjuster actually touching the hard part. Is this a problem ?. Will the movement of the swingarm mean the hard part will hit adjuster ?

Looking at it, I think I'll have to take the hard parts off to allow for clearance. Has anyone fitted both together before ?

Can you not just turn the retaining bracket round a bit, or file a bit off it.

If you turn the bracket so the edge is flush with the footrest, the holes don't align and the adjuster gets right in the way of the h/p, hence the angle it's at now. I could cut it or file it, but want to check if it needs it first.

What about raising the shock reservoir up with a few washers or a small spacer?

I took the hard parts off as I'm off to France next week. I'm going to try and make a bracket when I get back, so it clears the h/p. The shock feels great, but I'm sure I can now hear a rumbling from the gearbox/shaft join at idle. What is it with these f****n' bikes and noises. Every day I start it up it sounds different from the previous day, always a different type of noise. Maybe I need bigger earplugs !
