Hi,

It's time to replace the OEM shocks from my R1200GS '08, Ohlins is the first choice because the dealer proximity.

My doubt is on the S46 model or the new TTX model:

TTX

I just use the bike for touring 2-up on tarmac (no offroad), the TTX model is significantly more expensive , is it justified the difference?

Someone with experience in the use of the two models ?

Thanks.

I don't think I could justify a TTX for anything less than racing a sportsbike, to be honest.....

I'd also consider Wilbers and Maxton - for a GS.

TTX would be overkill on a GS (In my opinion)

Have you looked at Nitron ? Have them on my 1150, very impressed

Cheapest option when I bought mine. Fantastic shocks and as reported all over the net, the best modification you will do on any bike is fit bespoke suspension.

Thanks for the alternative solutions proposed , but in Portugal the Ohlins is the only brand that ensures maintenance.

I've had Wilbers suspension and are excellent (another bike ) , but whenever it was necessary maintenance had to send them to the factory (Germany).

Hence my options are limited only to Ohlins.

Fair enough. (You live in a lovely city, spent 5 days there last week :beerjug:)

You can send the Wilbers to Revs Racing - highly recommended sales and service centre. It's cheap enough to send, insured?
