I have fitted some Ohlins to the bike after the originals were starting to show signs of being shagged out at about 30k. (road use only) It is a plusher ride. However, I am now getting the bike set up the way I like it and I seem to be running out of adjustment on the damper settings.

I only load the bike for touring and run solo all the time. So the bike isnt carrying that much weight. I weigh about 200 lbs (on a good day) I would be interested to know what kind of damper setting ie. how many clicks from flat out are you guys running with both front and back. I have an awful feeling I have a front and back shock re-valve coming up.

Hmmm....seems like no-one else with similar rotundity to the central thorax has settings for you?????

Must all be lightweights!

Heyup Panzer - loads of us have but no-one dare admit we don't know how to set em up properly so we're waiting for the resident expert(s)

Hey Panzy
What's clicks from flat mean
Perhaps you need harder springs .

gauloises,

I've had the springs changed on my Ohlins...WOW.

The bike rode great with the normal Ohlins on, smooth and cleaner through the corners but with the harder springs the bike has now regained its original shape and dynamic.

I have 1 grade higher on the front and 2 grades higher on the back (from standard for the GS), this is becuase of the workload the bike will have to put up with over the next few years, plus the fact that I've got the large 42 litre Touratech tank, Ali panniers, roll bag, tank bag and add to that I'm 6ft 4" and 16 stone.

I've got to say the bike hasn't felt this good in years.

If any of you guys want some answers then contact Richard at Harris Performance Part(Ohlins importer) he's forgotten more about suspension than most of us will ever know. Tel: 01992 532500.

Cheers

Thanks guys, appreciated.

Gualoises: Clicks from flat..out. I meant the rebound damping adjusters. How many clicks away from maximum. (I'm a Geordie...English is my second language ;) )

Cheers all :D
