Oi who lives in East Anglia then and Wot do yer ride ?

Andy and Adam:

Fair do's, it was said "tongue-in-cheek" (well, mostly :D ).

Having lived in both Bar Hill and Chatteris, as well as Cottenham, Hardwick (bunch of toffee-nosed wankers) and Cambridge, I can accept that they all have their place in life.

Thankfully, for me, it was a past life :D :D :D

I haven't done the B1050 for a couple of months now. Last time out they were scraping a rice rocket and its owner off the road (again). Claims too many victims these days.

Don't get me wrong - I'm the first person to have a pop at Chatteris :D ... and why not!

I learnt to ride the B1050 on my K75s (peg scraping fun!) and when I got a GSX-R 600 (that'll be a rice rocket then) in 98 I already knew where the bumps were and when I could open the throttle...

The strange thing is, it doesn't matter how much you pre-warn the new comers before you ride it there will always be one who has to bin it in one way or another :(

I look forward to an East Anglia ride out so I can harass some of you GS riders ;) ... or will that be the other way round?

Adam

I can't disagree about the 1050, I've had my moments on the bandit and am now looking forward to doing it properly on the GS.

I used to live in Sawtry and there are some good back roads there as well. In fact that was the area I took the GS for a test drive last weekend - plenty of big smiles :D

Its good to know there are a couple of people locally, may be in September when I'm running in the new machine we could manage some ride outs?

I'm in Werrington, Peterborough.

Ride a K110LTSE (5 years 65,000 miles) and 1150GS (2 months 3,500 miles), great fun, like it now I've got the surging sorted (almost).

Would be up for a meet sometime.

I live in Welwyn Garden City - not quite East Anglia but I'm sure on the edge of a ride-out if you were over this way!

BLL

Oh yeah, and R1150GS

.....and from Stevenage...

....the Old Town, but still probably down-market from Chatteris, Cambridge.........but who gives a s**t?

I ride a 3 week old yellow 1150GS, that is apart from the blue paint from a Jeep Chrokee that tried to drive through me in North London on Tuesday :shoot:

I'd be keen to join a ride-out - is there one arranged?

Loyd

Would like to set up some meets once I get the new machine, my Bandit is now on the market so I won't be going very far with it at the moment. The GS is due in September, although Balderstones are yet to give me a date for its arrival, I'm hopefull of geting it on the 1st. Once I've got it I'm going to want to make up for lost summer riding!

What sort of ride outs do you guys like?

Took a friend of mine up the A10 from Ely to Kings Lynne last week for a blast, a quick stop at the seaside and home again in time for last orders.

I tend to 'do' Hunstanton quite a bit. Not on Sundays though, when all the Power Rangers are about. Cromer's good for a run too.

I know what you mean about the Power Rangers, mind that is one of the reasons for getting rid of the Bandit - very tempting to go too fast.

Not tried the Cromer run, though do go to Wells via Fakenham once in a while.

I'm also just outside East Anglia, near Spalding in Lincs.

Ride a black (02) F650GS every day (120 mile round trip commute to Nottingham) - Love it, but hope to get a new R1150GS later in the year.

Anybody else out there in my neck of the woods (ah, if only there were woods!)?

Graham (nee Bikertigs)

Here is a regular 180 mile Sunday run . . . some fantastic B-roads (notably B660, B1053, etc). Tea at Finchingfield. No dual carriageways of major A-roads.

If you've got GPS and the mapsource file, just say "yes".

Yep. Sometimes do that one, but without the sticky-outy-Bedfordy bit.

How many coming up to the East Midlands meet at Great Casterford next Tuesday (10th) then? Damn sight closer than Felixstowe for us Cambridgeshire boys.

Sorry can't do Tuesdays:(

Besides you wouldn't want a bandit in your midst.

You're joking! We're all a right bunch of bloody bandits anyway!!

Wouldn't matter what you turn up on, and it would give you an insight into the thousands of quids worth of extras you can add to your GS when you get it!! :D :D :D

Wivenhoe, Essex. Like it says on the tin.
Blue/white GS.
Still going slow in and slow out:( but soon hope to be able to keep up on a ride out with you lads and lasses.

Martin

Proqured a black 1100GS yesterday and live in Bottisham. Let me know if you meet up for an Anglian run
