Can anyone tell me how I can get my R1200gs oil cooler guard off? I had it fitted because I tried myself but split the oil cooler mounts, all in all it must have cost me about £300 to fit (new oil radiator!)

It looks simple enough, but the actual guard cover is too big to slide out, do i need to remove the 'beak' to get at it properly? please help

i will make the question easier..as 45 people have viewed the question but no reply! :blast

If you have an aftermarket cover/gaurd over your radiator/oil cooler did you have to take the front plastics off to fit it? similarly to remove one? I need to remove mine... please help

What make is it? If its one of Reyno's it will slide up from underneath ...

Just taken one off an 06 and then replaced it on an 08 I took the beak off and the head light and clocks out. Seams like a lot to do, but makes it easy.
good luck

Not quite sure what you mean,
but with the TT version you have to remove the beak, and the guard is held on with cable ties, which would need cutting to remove it.

There's many different types so perhaps a picture would save a thousand words....

And many hours taking the wrong bits off.... :)

Take the beak off - it's 10 mins work, and makes the whole job a lot easier.

Once the beak os off you remove the oil guard bolts and the protector just slides out (forwards and downward).

Advise above based on my wunderlich cover...
