Off the wall ...On the case
Just returned from >400 mile trip to the Corve valley and leak from hub is evident on the off side of the tyre.
Topped up hub recently (took very little).
If I was still in Derbyshire I’d be straight over to Mikeyboy’s but rather more of a trek from here.
Slight knock audible when wheel rotated to and fro.
Informed opinions please! :D

doesn't really help us , to locate where you live , does it ?

so we could offer an alternative to Mikeyboy , if you are too old to post it to him .

I’m amazed! :D
Bike year and Model would be useful ??

If it is only on the Wheel side of the hub ... Possible main seal (or through FD, brake lever spindle seals)

Front and lower Dripping Drain bung on Swingarm side of FD

Other side from Wheel

Top, rear or bottom and Leaking down could be any of the three.... Breather, Level Plug and Drain plug

At least it gives you a start instead of panicking and pulling it off and posting when it may just need a new sealing ring

Again What model applies ??? If it is a twin shock and you hear that knock when rocking the wheel? Is the axle spindle / nut tight ?

Mono or Paralever you need to look a bit deeper

Gravity, who’d have thought :D

,
I think this is going to be one of those threads with more questions than answers
A good one to Ponder with one of those rather Nice looking pastrami and mustard etc Bagels from Near your Gaff and a big Mug of Tea perhaps ??

Sorry my bad.
1992 R 100 GS paralever ( but you know that!)
Ex Belper Phil got it in 2016(?) and has been through Mikeyboy’s hands.
As far as I can tell it’s just the wheel side of the hub.
Will get some pics up ( just back from 5 miles with dog so having a well earned coffee. (y)

But we didn’t know that., all we know is it’s an airhead — could be a twin shock .. the post currently next to yours is a question about an R60/6 which is from the 1970’s,

Nope no idea what bike at all

Wheels Side .... 2 options then and Probably easiest to slip the wheel off and look

Either Main Seal or Brake lever spindle seals

The “you know that” referred to ‘paralever’ because I knew that both Doc F and you Neil are intimately familiar with the specs of airheads.
Anyway, and I hope that I’m not jumping the gun because I’ve not ridden it yet, but it looks as if the good doctor was right - I managed to nip up the drain plug a couple of flats and topped up the final drive and so far it remains dry.
Incidentally as you can perhaps see the drain plug washer isn’t copper - should it be?
Many thanks to all who’ve helped and let’s hope it’s sorted!🤞

Thanks very much Mikey, hopefully it’s sorted (see below)
Ended up riding it on the North of Spain rally last year and was grateful for all your work and BMW reliability!
Well some time later: rang Mikey to arrange a trip to MM.
Was instructed to remove rear wheel and attempt to assess where leak coming from.
Brake shaft clear but oil round bottom of hub.
Checked the ring of Allen bolts and the bottom three or four were not tight!
Sorted that and eventually succeeded in refitting brakeshoes.
Wheel reinstalled, left overnight . . . . NO LEAK!!
Thanks Mike!
