Oil level in final drive?

Presuming you've read the link above.
The latest 1200s have a drain plug to ease changing the oil. The t'other plug isn't the level height though - you still need to measure and fill 180ml (used to be 230ml - no change of design, so I use 200ml).
Using the easy drain plug is a bit of a false economy cos your drive shaft splines will probably need regreasing anyway.
Allow just over an hour for your first attempt.

•There is a service bulletin that says you must replace the nut that holds the paralever's torque arm to the final drive. Apparently it is a "one-time" use item, and SHOULD BE REPLACED if removed!

This is a must... as all self locking nuts are a one time only use.... This is despite what some people may think

Regards

Interestingly, the one I took off was an oval profile nut, which I assume is self locking. The replacement I bought from a dealer was just a galvanised nut - no thread lock or oval profile. So I put a splash of threadlock on it and it's still there 6000 miles later :nenau

Next time I'll just clean off the old threadlock and use it again.
