oil warning light

hi the oil warning light on my r100gs 93 does not work in the rain if you move the wire it goes no when you turn the key on and all the warning light goes off when you start the bike but if you turn the key on in a short time the light does not go on i have cleaned the censer any ideas
the oil leave is go but i have to check the leave be for starting the bike to be on the saft side Sean

Could be a break in the wire making an intermittent contact?
