I'm trying to get both a Morocco road and topo map onto my Nuvi 1310, but am not meeting with much success.
I have to confess to being a bit of a Garmin numpty, having only used it (off PC ) for the usual postcode search to get me from A to B in UK.

So I downloaded MapSource to my PC as instructed by Olaf, then downloaded the Morocco map, but when I try to "open" up the Morocco map in MapSource I get an error message saying that the file is not a valid Mapscource file.
I'm clicking on the Maroc-Topo reg. file but have tried most of the others within the folder with the same result.

I know it's me being a pillock, but can't find any more detailed instructions as to how to do it :nenau

help please

Have you used Mapsource before? If it didn't come with your GPS the file download from Garmin won't work. You can download a copy that you can unlock with a bit of help from Google.

Olaf's maps still have more piste than the OSM maps, as I found out with both installed on a recent trip to Morocco. Garmin Morocco Topo is still best, if you want to shell out for it.

True - but how much would you pay someone to lead you out of the desert if you were lost?

Still no luck with either Mapsource or Basecamp.
I've now tried downloading both on my windows netbook am getting the same error message saying that "the file is not a valid Mapscource file" when I try to open Olaf's maps.

WTF am I doing wrong??
Is it because I'm trying to run copies downloaded from Garmin's website as opposed to loading from a disc?
I know
