Old games

Can anyone tell me how to get old windows games to play on a MacBook pls. The games are such as Quake, Doom, Fear etc and I would love to be able to play them again.

Have a look online for 'BootCamp'. It lets you partition your drive and install windows.

Thanks for that AA. I might try the wine solution first as the games are old ones, going as far back as windows 95.
Failing that, I wonder if i could use bootcamp with the other os and games on an external HDD to minimise the disruption to the mac setup.

Bootcamp needs to use a partition of your boot drive to install the windows OS, but you could make that partition pretty small, then have an external drive to hold all your windows apps / games.

You also could try Parallels Desktop.

It runs Windows from within MacOS and works pretty well, you could do the same with the external drive.
