Came across this book lurking in me shed. My introduction to Trailriding in the 80`s having played offroad for a few years saw this book for a £1.00 and thought ooo this looks like fun. After a few brilliant trips joined local TRF.
Proper Nostalgia hit for me,
Loads of info on The Ridgeway , Wales , Dover to Lands End – The Long Green Lane. The North Jedburgh to Derby.

Good pics of people out on some well loved lanes not quite flat cap riding but as close as.

Still available, twas a Haynes publication.

Lot of the Lanes mentioned will be now closed. Always consult TRF ,or CC definitive map before riding Lanes.

Weekend reading sorted.:thumby:

page 122 Hell Gill on Highway still open, still quite a few featured in the book are still going, like you say a good book with some good articles in it & a nostalgia trip..

Andrew

Just had to find and purchase that tonight, cost me more than a quid tho',
The last time I went up the steps from Hayfield it didn't end well for one of the riders, he caught his DRZ400 gearbox case on a piece of jutting out limestone and lost all his oil, managed to push him a few miles into Edale by riding along side with my foot flat on his silencer!

Used to run a DT125 yamaha very light , then XT350`s some stunning memories brought to light reading through that book. It is falling apart mind. Well read not looked after. Bit like missen really.

Another good read

Some interesting stuff in this one, probably not available in the shops anymore, some good information about old roads as the title says..
